This offers a highly profound dramatization of the path from darkness to light, the path to illumination. It is stacked with symbolism and wise philosophy. It speaks of the green path, the Horus-man, yet nothing of the blue path. I would be interested to read a dramatization of the Christ-man's quest for illumination. I find inner-cosmic-church philosophy to be just as profound and romantic as masonic philosophy.

Manly P Hall was a genius. Thanks for posting these writings.

I can fully appreciate the mystical significance of the allegory so admirably portrayed and perhaps because of my own illumined self-experience can perhaps read into it more depth of understanding than is actually divulged. Of course, my psychic initiation into the Egyptian Mystery School of Cheops in 1980 was a far cry from the localized ancient Egyptian kind depicted. Nevertheless it proved to be just as exacting and enlightening. In fact, the Great Pyramid figured only fleetingly, yet importantly, in putting me ‘On the Square plus One’. In an altered state of consciousness and fixedly gazing down at it from an airliner as it was banking to land in Cairo the ancient monument itself infused into my mind the repetitive numerical progression 1, 2, 5, 10; which when accompanied by the number 17, later divulged by my psychic mentor, led me to comprehend that this was the algebraic formula Y = X squared plus One; which in turn led me to believe Y symbolically represented the evolutionary stages of universal intelligence, and X symbolically represented the essential evolutionary elements required to ensure the creative universal seed could forever cyclically progress from explosive propagation to consummate fruition – A perfect state of conscious existence! – Hence, the title of my whimsical quartet, which expands on this theme and much more, if anyone is interested further.

What has this really to do with Manly P. Hall’s epilogue? Well, I’ve since writing my quartet learnt from another illumined source that the above formula was known to the ancient Egyptians: is preserved by the Masons even now: and was used by the ancient Egyptian Mystery Schools, amongst other occult processes, to leave initiates having no choice but to believe in eternal life. I was no exception to these processes, and I just wonder if Manly P. Hall’s Aradamas, as well as the sacred light we’re told he received, was also made privy to the above; or were these important initiation aspects perhaps omitted from the epilogue for reasons of Masonic protocol. This is just the curious reflection of a kindred spirit; no disrespect to MPH is meant.
